5/17/2009 Fall in Love with Shakespeare有点像曾经的"秋秋"突然爱上"小雍",我竟然也会有这种冲动--Shakespeare's Sonnet18,all of a sudden,sparked my heart.于是乎,一气呵成写了篇评论,然后用两个晚上的时间修改。很感谢老师给了个不错的分数和评语,这才让我终于有勇气将这份感受放在博客中,与朋友们分享……
Fall in Love with Shakespeare
When it comes to Shakespeare,I have to admit that I just have a very limited knowledge of him and his works.So,please accept my sincere regrets to you,great Shakespeare,I regard your sonnet 18 as the movingest lyric of the tremendous amout of your great works.
Sonnet 18 began with a question "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?",comparing the author's beloved to an enjoyable season when the flowers are blooming,trees are full of leaves.But,the beloved one,is "more lovely".Furthermore,compared with her,summer rather tends to something extreme,"too hot" and "too dim",while she is "more temperate". Nevertheless,the summer is moving too quickly,as it says "every fair from fair sometime declines". How the speaker wishes that the summer could last a little longer.He could't stop Autumn's approaching,but he could give the beloved an eternal life in his poem,just as the last two lines go.His love was expressed in the poem,in which the one he loved would be kept alive,never dying,but everlasting.
It is just the last couplet of this poem "So long as men can breath or eyes can see, So long lives this,and this gives life to thee." that inpressed me most,touched me most,and inspired me most.My heart just can't help being thricken when I read it.It reflected to me a Chinese poem," Nothing could make me depart from you,unless all the mountains were without angularities,or the sky and the earth were mixed." The beautiful beloved accomplished her eternity by being preserved in the poem.
I love you,naturally,just as people have eyes to see;
I love you,timelessly,just as man can breath to live.
The poem sincerely written for you will last forever,thus my love and the one who I love can long endure in the poem,longlasting and never perish from the earth.
I just wonder,who can bear not to be moved by such faithful words?Who can't be touched deeply while reading between lines?Who can still decline that eternal love when you,fortunately,are just the fair lord in the poem?
Shakespeare was born to be a poet.In my opinion,his greatness is not beacuse of the style he used to write,but the content he wrote in his works.A wonderful poem doesn't depend on whether it is created strictly in a rhythm form,but whether it can bring us the mood for rhythm.Shakespear's iambic pentameter,sometimes untressed,sometimes stressed,just like waltz,brings the readers much wonderful,mucial,and also romantic feelings.
Shakespear broke the bound alliteration of poems,but created a new way to express,which widely widen the room of his works.His breaking through didn't help a little to detract the romance of his poems,but,on the contrary,it contributed to boosting up the mood for love,the feelings of concinnity,and the emotion of passions.The sharing of faithful feeling is much more attractive than mechanically keeping rhyme to dorn poems.
Above all,personally speaking,Shakespear's regarding his works' content more important than their styles is the greatest contribution that he devoted to poetic development.And I, just can't help falling in love with you while reading your poems. Comments (11)
